| Staija has met its timely demise. The rumor is confirmed. Staija will no longer be a functioning band. The friction between member personalities has been shining through at performances. Crowds have grown bored with the same old songs and no full-length album to take home. New songs have been remarkably infrequent because of a lack of togetherness among the group. Music writing has been a chore, a lack-luster task that is approached with procrastination by a portion of the group. This lineup has been unable to completely function as a team for quite a long time. The stresses caused by this have been a constant handicap on the progress of the project and it is with sadness that Staija has agreed to hang it up. Staija has been lucky enough to gain the respect and interest of many, both in and out of Minneapolis. As well, Staija was granted some memorable opportunities that many bands never get the privilege to experience. However, even these experiences cant keep a team together forever. Were not going to just blow it off as the usual creative differences excuse. Its more vast than that. The full-length recording process has taken far too long (10 months). There has been an obvious shift in priorities of certain members over that time. And overall attitude changes are just the beginning of Staijas fallout. Generally, miscommunications, mistrusts, and complete lack of ambition or work ethic has also been immense in contribution to our parting ways. The split is not completely amicable. Its not completely without regret. It is decidedly the best thing for each person involved or not so involved. Fortunately, there is one up-side to all this There will be a Final Performance. It is already scheduled for Saturday, July 29th at The Rock Nightclub. This venue has treated Staija very well over the last few years, helping foster a fan base, and providing resources in putting together the best shows possible. All we can ask is this: If Staija has ever meant anything to you, interested you, fell into your liking, or simply peaked your curiosity, we ask that you join us one last time. Its been a long journey a trying experience a fun attempt We've hit the end of the road. A huge thank you goes out to all of our fans and friends who have stood by us, joined us at shows, supported our music through CDs and merchandise, and simply believed in us. It was your interest that kept us going for so long so, for that, we deeply thank you. |
